Purium Superfood Treats

Since I use an love Purium an  the Ignite Road Trip  is on and about half way through the tour with 100’s of people c coming out, I thought I would include this recipe!! If you are curious about Purium, why Purium, why green foods, why David Sandoval or Amy Venner then join 100’s of other people attending these events  (if it’s not already too late) and getting tapped in, tuned in and turned on to the wave of the future and the importance of Green food!!!

If you think you would like to try this recipe then feel  free to check out the Purium products ( Tropical oil aka Coconut Oil – probably the best I’ve tried, Activated Barley and the L.O.V Live Organic Vegan ), contact me with any questions or go straight to order these products and use the $50 Gift Card (code is eatinghealthy) or better yet you already have these products and can use them right away!!  Yes you could substitute them as well and I will give suggestions yet it just won’t be as tasty or probably nutritious – ok I may be a little biased here but I know what I know!! 🙂

Please note – most of Purium’s products are foods  and they are live, vegan, organic (certified whenever possible) AND NON-gmo.

Mash 1 Avocado well

Mix in

2 tbsp Coconut oil (Purium’s Tropical Oil)

4 tbsp raw Cacao Powder

4 tbsp raw organic Almond butter (try for raw if possible)

4 tbsp Activated Barley (Purium’s Activated Barley) the closet substitute I would use would be ground Hemp seed

6 tbsp L.O.V.E. (Purium’s L.O.V) another live, vegan protein source/powder or even ground Hemp

2 tsp Spirulina (Purium’s Spirulina)

Mix well together either by hand or in a food processor

Roll into balls or flatten them

Can roll that in shredded raw Coconut or raw Cacao Powder with some Monk fruti sugar (or other type if wanted any sugar at all – not needed)

Keep in fridge

Makes great snacks, treats and since it’s loaded with nutrition and the Activated Barley (slow burning germinated carb) you will have sustained energy!!  If all ingredients are raw, including the almond butter you have a tasty and live treat!

Enjoy and please feel free to share this!!

Chia Crackers

I wanted to play with a new cracker style recipe using Chia.  I use Chia off and on and it can create some great crackers, pudding or in smoothies.  I am not understanding baking with it since it gels and expands in water, so my thoughts would be potential constipation.  One tables with a glass of water and you will be full for a while.  It was also used in ancient times as an energy food on long journeys when it wasn’t possible to carry much food again taken with water. so cooking or baking with it, I am not convinced is a good thing.  Just like hemp it has omega oils that are destroyed when heated.

Using a food dehydrator keeps the temperature under 115 and the nutrients and enzymes are still living!

Recipe:

  • ¼ cup ground Flax See
  • – 2 cups ground Chia See
  • 10 cloves minced Garlic
  • 2 cups Water

Mix well together and let stand overnight

  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Himalyan Sea Salt
  • 2 tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 1 cup finely chopped Dill
  • 1 cup finely chopped Parsely

Mix remaining ingredients in and let stand another 12 hours (optional but it brings in a fermenting process a bit so it’s easier to digest or you can mix all ingredients together at once and let stand 12 – 24 hours)

Chia Crakcers

Depending on the thickness you may need more water, you don’t want it runny yet not too thick either to be able to spread on the sheets in the dehydrator.

Spread out and score and let dehydrate for several hours (approx 6 hours) and flip the sheets removing the sheet so it’s right on the tray and dehydrate until crisp or desired crispness.

Great in dips, spreads or on it’s own.  I  made mine crispy and used in Salsa and Guacamole.

Enjoy!!

Del Mar Sunset

I sometimes wonder if I am making a difference in the world or people’s lives as I think that people know about our food, our planet, better choices etc and then I go travelling and realize there is still a big job out there!!

2015-09-02_0001

Yes I hung out in my flip flops mostly (I so love that) spent some time at the beach (oh never enough), tried some amazing raw treats and deserts that I can’t get buy in BC and got my creative juices going on creating more recipes – I do love California and can’t wait to spend more time here.

One of the many reasons I love being part of Purium!! David Sandoval and Amy Venner have made it their mission to help wake people up to better health, real foods, whole foods, super foods, to leave less of a carbon footprint in the world and to offer choices – healthy ones that the food giants would prefer you don’t know about.

Purium

David Sandoval & Amy Venner

No Purium is not just another co that made a product to see how much they could sell and make it a little healthier than products you find on most store shelves.
