The Calling of the Soul
comes through in heartaches
in shutting down
in denial of one’s truth,
when the Soul whispers
to get one’s attention
we can answer that whisper
or choose to ignore it
discount it
push that longing down
with words and feelings of
one day I’ll do that or
there’s not enough time or
gotta make more money
and
by wearing many masks of who we aren’t,
yet the Soul
lives in the eternal
moment of now
and patiently waits
for one to respond
to the calling of their Soul
yet the more one is shut down
disconnected
or in denial
to the calling of their Soul,
the more the calling turns to a cry…….
so listen to the calling of your Soul
for it will guide you home
where true freedom lives
