Spaghetti Pie

I couldn’t find the original recipe for this one, so I made it off the top of my head last night for dinner, and it ended up tasting good, even my husband ate it!! (And no, he’s not a raw foodie, but will eat what I make and give me honest feed back!!!)
I also need to get a good digtial camera instead of my little pocket one, you couldn’t tell I used to be a photograher with this one!!! lol
Spaghetti Pie

3 Steps

– 6-8 carrots depending on the size cut up in chunks for the processor
– 1 cup walnuts
– 1-2 cloves garlice
sea salt to taste
squeeze of lemon juice
– 1/4 cup water ( may need a little more adjust accordingly)
Process together untila nice mixture, moist and smooth and put in bottom of glass pan

2-3 Avocados depending on size
Mash into bowl and add sea salt, 1-2 cloves garlic and juice of 1/2 lemon
Mix together, adjust to taste

Spread over carrot mixture in pan

Peel 2 – 3 Zucchinis and if you don’t have a spiroli to make pasta like noodles, any type of shredder will do (cheese shredder) to make a pasta like noodles from the zucchini
Grate the zucchinis
I don’t use the centers of the zucchini, I save those to mix in with other veggies for my dog, but you can if you like
place the pasta like zuccini on top of the avaocado spread
Garnish with chopped green onions or parsley or basil or cilantro or whatever else you would like,
a little sprinkle of a nut cheese too is optional

If you want, you can add in herbs to the carrots mixture as well, play with it and always remember, when dealing with fresh, raw foods, the taste may change each time so experiment and don’t be afraid to add more salt or lemon or herbs or even less!!

Water or Coke…????

After making my last short video, I got this email from a friend……..hmmm….coincidence or synchronicity???? She didn’t know what I put in my video or that I even created one!!
Anyways, I don’t know how much of this is true, I will test some of them, but that means then I have to buy some coke as I never have it around!!  WHAT IF they are true…….do you really want to be putting this into your body????


#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. 
(Likely applies to half the world population)

#2.   In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak
that it is mistaken for hunger.

#3.  Even MILD dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism as 3%

#4.  One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs 
for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of
Washington study.

#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6.  Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of 
water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain
for up to 80% of sufferers.

#7.  A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term 
memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on
the computer screen or on a printed page.

#8.. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of 
colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast
cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop
bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water
you should drink every day?


#1.  In many states the highway patrol carries 
two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from
the highway after a car accident.

#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke
and it will be gone in two days.

#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the 
toilet bowl
and let the ‘real thing’ sit for one hour,
then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes
stains from vitreous china.

#4.  To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: 
Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds
Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

#5.  To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour 
a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble
away the corrosion.

#6.  To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola
to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

#7.  To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into 
the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake.
Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix
with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.

#8…  To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke 
into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run
through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen
grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your


#1 the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid.
It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric
acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major
contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.

#2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup! (the concentrate) the
commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place
cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

#3.  The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean
engines of the trucks for about 20 years!

Now the question is…..would you like a glass of water??!!

Motivational Monday………

Yup….still raining, I need all the motivation I can get!!  It’s suppose to rain all week…..oh yeah!!!!

I could look at it that way or I could look at it as, well I guess I will be getting alot of work done, so that when the sun does finally come out, I can hit the beach and enjoy it!!!

See, it doesn’t matter what is going on around us, chaos, bad weather, moody teens, miserable clerks, grumpy friends, it’s what is going on inside of us that matters. Yes I want it to be nice out, but there is no sense it fighting it out with Mother Nature…..she will win……I can only worry about how I feel or what am I going to do different today to make things better for tomorrow.

I got an email from Matt Morris with his video for a Motivational Monday, you might enjoy that, or watch Elements of Greatness, or Les Brown on Motivation or any other YouTube video that would be good.
You could also throw on some music and dance around the house or sing like no one’s watching or listening, just belt it out or work up a sweat…….if that doesn’t help, get naked and jump up in down in front of the mirror……well maybe not, I thought that it might make you laugh but it could do just the opposite and make you even more depressed!!!!

How You Feel……..

How You Feel is Everything!!!

I must say right now, that after more than a week of grey, cold and rain, well…..the moods could be better around here.
Heck, last Monday the sun did come out for a couple fo hours and it felt amazing, but I can count on one hand how many sunny days we’ve had this month and I probably have some fingers left over!!!

I think of Ontario right now, after my sister called this morning saying they opened their pool and have been sitting around it the past few days, ‘it’s so hot’……yeah whatever. Then I think of Calgary…….and I feel better immediately, they just got dumped with snow, rain I will put up with!!!!

I got to thinking about what I used to do when my kids were little, like 2 and 3 years old. We were living in Banff at the time and when  we would have one of those cold snaps, you know, minus 30 and above for a few weeks…….what did I do to entertain the kids as you can’t go outside in that weather for very long!

I remembered that I used to get them in their bathing suits, kids love that, spread blankets over the living room floor that were white, to create  more of a sand like feeling, put around a few lamps and turn them on so they had to put their sunglasses on, get out  some  beach like toys and they would have a blast pretending their were at the beach.

So…….it got me thinking, why can’t I do that??? Why not move the lounge chair in the living room, get into my bathing suit (oh maybe not such a good idea after winter!!) turn on the sun lamps, a little fan, some background music of breeze,
waves splashing and maybe some birds.

Ahhhh, I feel better already thinking about it.

Hey, and I can get Ken to be my cerveza boy!!!

Now I think I’m really starting to feeling great!!!!

Ever feel Stuck????

Do you ever wake up in the morning feeling like it’s ‘Ground Hog Day’? You know, that movie with Bill Murray!!
Like it’s the same day, all over again!!
Like….’what the hell is it all about anyways?’ as you lie in bed waking up.

I got an email update from a site I belong to titled ‘Feeling Stuck??’……..coincidence???
This related to business though.

I watched the short video, it says to reve things up when you’re feeling stuck………whatever.
I could tap on it, but don’t.

I start surfing the net, and find things to look at and read, the I realized, I really just needed to change my state, cause now I felt inspired and motivated and like it wasn’t ground hog day any more!!

It’s about changing your state, do something for yourself that makes you feel good.
Here’s a little video that just might break a smile. Just ignore the Becal commercial at the end!!

Health Food Store vs a Pharmacy Store

I like Mike Adam’s post from Natural here as I couldn’t agree more and I couldn’t have said it any better.

You get one body, why not take care of it the best you can. Too expensive?? Not enough time?  Really??  Do you feel as good as you can or would like too?  For me, I think that is way more expensive, and not just in monetary terms.

Think about it for a minute, you only have one body, why not feed it the best at least most of the time?
