If you think you are eating healthy – you may want to tune into and listen to as many free interviews as possible.  I thought I knew a lot and man I am even blown away.  It saddens me and makes me angry what is and has been done to our food and supply.  Why is it that a farmer or manufacture has to label, get certified, pay the prices to create real or healthy foods yet foods with chemicals, gmo’s and addictive additives are free of even having to label it……sad and pretty pathetic if you ask me.

Did you know that 30 years ago there was 800 food chemicals / additives and now there is over 10 000??? Most have not been tested either!!

That is why as much as possible eat real foods – real meaning there are no labels. Real meaning if they were made in a plant probably stay away from it, if they come from a plant eat it!! (and try for organic as often as possible too)!!

While on my travels we came across this great dip / sauce called Bitchin Sauce and I really did enjoy it!!  As usual I thought well I can make this!! I have this desire to re-create even similar but also to really know what the ingredients are.  I am not totally anal that I have to always know the purity of the ingredients but I do like knowing my food is clean and doesn’t have any added chemicals or other things as much as possible.

As in all my recipes – I use organic as much as possible and all my nuts are raw.  This recipe depending on a couple of things you use will make it raw or at least vegan – but either way this recipe is still healthy and of course natural – the way it should be! 🙂  And of course since they are raw, vegan it’s gluten free as well!!

Anyways, this is great to dip veggies in, put on crackers, in wraps, on steam veggies etc and you can get creative with the spices – try different spices each time you make it.  i.e. Basil, Chipolte, Hot n Spicy, Cilantro, Sweet – you decide!

–  1 cup raw Almonds

Soak Almonds overnight or longer (once they have soaked it is easy to remove the skins as you will need to do that for this recipe)

Once the Almonds have soaked and skins removed put into Vitamix or Blender.  Add in remaining ingredients.

–  1/4 cup cold pressed Olive Oil (I have recently been introduced to by a dear new friend, a new (but actually really old) oil called Camelina Oil that is rich in antioxidants, has a high  heat point, lots of omegas, raw and non-gmo – how does it get any better than that!!)  Love it that we are finding old things that we could be eating that are healthy and some how some where along the way we lost the access or info to some amazing products – that is why I so love real Superfoods!!

–  juice of one Lemon

–  1 tbsp Nutritional Yeast

–  3 tbsp Braggs (or Tamari or Nama Shoyu)

–  3 cloves Garlic

–  1/4 tsp Himalayan Sea Salt

–  Spices – 1 – 2 tbsp – this is where you can get creative for this recipe I kept it a tad mild and used Cumin, pinch of Cayenne and a hint of

toasted Coriander Seed ground up.

All ingredients are in the Vitamix and while blending add in water – depending on the thickness of it, but I preferred it not to be too thick so by the ned I added 11/4 cup water.  Blend it all until smooth, taste and adjust lemon, salt and spices until you get the desired taste (just like the amount of water).

I found for myself to let it sit over night the tastes came out even more – but you can serve and eat immediately.

Enjoy!!
